10/12/2022 0 Comments 2022 Keith Smith Whiting ChallengeWOW what an amazing turn out for the Whiting Competition presentation and Christmas Party. Due to the fantastic weather, we left the King Bait & Berley packs in a freezer offsite, so they did not spoil, the winners have since collected.
Congratulations Steve for winning the comp taking home new whiting rod and a King Bait & Berley pack. Congratulations Brett for winning the King Bait & Berley pack raffle. Congratulations Tayla for winning the amazing meat tray raffle. Congratulations John for winning the soft plastics rod and reel combo raffle. With mother nature turning up the weather for us and giving us the perfect weather for a spit, sausages, salads, bread, rolls, fresh locally caught whiting, hot chips and prawns prawns and more prawns. A feast enjoyed by all. Thank you everyone for coming along and for the continued support. Big shout to Kevin and Anne for helping out in the kitchen, your help is always appreciated. It was fantastic to see the Committee work as a team through the cooking, carving, serving, raffles, etc. Well done team. If you have a fish to weigh in for the whiting competition just contact a committee member and we will have someone come and register your whiting. Otherwise get a photo with the fish on your scales with the weight clearly visible and send it through. 6/11/2022 0 Comments 2022 Snapper CompetitionMother nature turned it up for a day of sunshine, socialising, good food and our Snapper Comp presentation.
Congratulations Gerald on taking out the winning place weighing in at 7.55kg. Everyone tried hard to outdo your amazing catch and they proved harder to find than previous weeks. Well done for taking home the Tonic sunglasses pack, the bowsprit and anchor from Lone star marine, and the bait & burley pack from King Bait & Burley. Congratulations Gail for taking out the ladies entry of the comp. There were a few ladies out there on the water so well done. Enjoy your new Snapper rod. This rod was donated by In Season Hunting & Fishing in Warragul. Congratulations William for taking out the juniors entry. It was great to see you out there enjoying yourself on the water. This year we tried something different instead of having a second place, we urged members and guests to weigh in every snapper no matter what the weight was providing it was withing legal size/bag limits. Every weight recorded was an entry into a mystery prize randomly drawn out at the presentation. Congratulations John on winning the Mystery prize drawn out taking out an EPERB from Moose marine, bait & burley pack from King Bait & Burley, and a voucher to spend at Predator Tackle. We also two meat trays valued at $100 each up for grabs in a raffle. Congratulations to out two lucky winners Marcia and Peter. These were supplied by John at Country Style Meats in Garfield. Lastly, we would like to wish Allan a very happy birthday. 6/8/2022 0 Comments Presentation NightThanks to all the members that attended. Saturday the 6th of August was our Presentation Night. We celebrated and recognised all those people that have worked hard throughout the year of 2021-2022 to catch some excellent fish.
Trophies and winners were
This year we have made up a new Award Best Club Person - Murray Wannan This is awarded to the person who goes above and beyond their normal club duties. This year it was awarded to Murray Wannan for all the extra hard work he has done behind the scenes to try and get grant for the club house and also organising the club to do the boat ramp cleaning which brings in revenue for the club. May’s Gummy, Snapper and Whiting comp was won by Steve Comber with a 8.22kg gummy Shark, congratulations. It was a great day for a bbq and a chinwag.
24/4/2022 0 Comments Inverloch Marine All Species CompHad a great turnout at the Inverloch Marine All Species Comp. It was a Fantastic day for the BBQ with Friends.
Darren Cairns won the comp with an impressive 650gram King George Whiting. Thanks to Tonic Polarised Eyewear and Kings Bait and Berley for the awesome prize packs ( Due to Easter Holidays and a lot of places closed the prize packs will be redeemed later in the week). The BBQ Raffle was won by Little Gracie but unfortunately her mum Sally Had to claim the prizes. I don't think Gracie needed a bottle of Wine or a fillet knife. The clubs long awaited trivia night was a great success, everyone had fun and some great prizes were given away, so thank you to everyone that came along. John Oates did a great job as trivia master, our thanks goes out to John and the bowls club for looking after us also to all the local businesses that donated the great prizes.
